Welcome to Operation Microfinance, a fun and interactive game from Credit Suisse!

Operation Microfinance is a competitive game that introduces university students to the world of microfinance. Microfinance provides capital to low-income, underserved small-business owners, and its growing fast around the world. It includes financial products such as loans, savings accounts and insurance, which are given to small business owners who usually do not have access to traditional banking products and services.

While playing the game, you will learn how microfinance can improve the lives of small business people, who are called microentrepreneurs. You will also learn about Credit Suisse, our businesses, and our commitment to corporate responsibility-- all while competing against other students for the chance to win exciting prizes, including:

1. An all-expenses paid trip to Mumbai for all finalists
2. A Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 P3110 for all finalists
3. 100,000 Rupees per person for three Grand Prize winners
4. A chance to interview for a 2014 internship position with Credit Suisse for three Grand Prize winners!

How can you win?

Play the game well, answering as many questions as you can correctly in the time allotted. The players who score within the top 40 on the leader board will be invited to participate in a semi-finals completion, where you will have to create a 2-3 minute video, addressing a question about the state of the microfinance industry. The videos will be reviewed by a panel of experts from Credit Suisse and the microfinance industry. From there, 15 people will be selected to participate in a finals competition in Mumbai in October 2013 to compete for the ultimate prizes:

• All fifteen finalists will win an all-expenses paid trip to Mumbai for the finals competition, and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110.
• Three Grand Prize winners will win the above, plus 100,000 Rupees per person, and a chance to interview for a 2014 internship position with Credit Suisse.
